Healthy, Wealthy and Wise

25 Feb

We we all know the famous phrase “Early tho bed and early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise”

Do you agree with it? I do…….somewhat. Let me explain.

I understand the healthy. When you get enough sleep it will  positively  affect your health. You will have more enegy, your mind and body will be recharged. I get it. It doesn’t happen that way for everyone, but that is the theory.

Wealthy. Getting up early and putting in a full days work will pay off–eventually. If not in material wealth, in the satisfaction of a job well done or at least to the best of your ability. A little hard work never hurt anyone! (But I’m not taking any chances, that’s just me!)

Wise? How can sleep habits make you any more or less wise? Wisdom comes with knowledge and experience. Wisdom is earned not given. You can be the healthiest, richest person around and still be dumb as a box of rocks! Having one does not guarantee the other.

This was my contribution to Creative Blog Hop hosted by Tamara and others. Thanks for having me and I’ll see you on my next shore leave.

Well I know I would sleep better and be better off all the way around if I could get my brain to shut OFF!! I thought writing would help but it made it worse!! If I wrote half the stuff I think of in the middle of the night, I would have volumes written by now. But if I don’t write it down when I think of it, by in the morning, it’s gone!! My dear darling hubby finds scraps of paper everywhere with notes or quick thoughts jotted down on them. He finally quit asking me what are they and justs puts them in a pile on my writing notebook. He also quit asking me what’s in there!! He knows better!! 😉

This mama needs her sleep! I’m not wiser for it (well, less dingy probably) but I’m certainly nicer for it.

I know what you mean Beth! I’m not a morning person to begin with and add lack of sleep, it makes me a complete grouch!! Thanks for reading and commenting!

Good point. I’ve gone to bed pretty early (definitely before 10:00pm) 95% of the time for the past 2 years and I’m Broke, Poor and Crabby. But I don’t sick much these days, so I have THAT going for me, which is nice.
