Thankful Ten X 50

Ok all you arm twisters and encouragers! Here it is, my submission for the TToT week 50/ 1st birthday!

<div align=”center”>
<a href=” http://summat2thinkon.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Ten%20Things%20of%20Thankful&#8221; rel=”nofollow” title=”Ten Things of Thankful” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e8ymQzXdWfc/U4ezc4ySR7I/AAAAAAAAFW8/pwkYIVju5Os/s1600/Ten+Things+of+Thankful+Birthday+Banner.jpg&#8221; alt=”Ten Things of Thankful” style=”border:none;” /></a></div>

1.  A great birthday get together for a friend and neighbor on Thursday. It ended up being a day of fun, food and frivolity! Due to a shortage of funds, his request of my dear darling hubby’s cooking of ribs on the grill and our homemade potato salad might have been a difficult request, however he volunteered to provide the food if we would do the honors. We had several neighbors stop by and the day was a great success.

2.  A chance coming up to meet members of my hubby’s family that I have not gotten a chance to meet and his chance to meet 2 of his grandkids.

3.  Getting a blog post in!! Always an accomplishment!

4.  More quiet time with dear darling son being out of school and sleeping until mid-day!!

5.  Love of family and friends. I might not have a lot of money but the heart is full of wonder and merriment.

6.  Advice, leadership and support of a great bunch of fellow bloggers.

7.  My pantry is mostly full and whatever my dear darling bottomless pit wants to eat (when he finally gets out of bed) most of the time I have it for him!

8. Thankful for getting another year better in a few days myself. Just like fine wine, I am getting better with age, not older!

9. Time spent outside before it gets unbearably too hot here in the “Sunshine” state or before we have to duck and cover in the event of a monorail blow. (Hurricane! What did you think I meant?)

10.  Thankful for a short attention span because I never get bored—-OH look, a shiny, sparkly distraction!!

Hahaha an excellent list of excellence! I always loved summer break from homework for my son! Always nice to spend time with family and friends!

Thanks Joy!! Yep summer break is always welcome but when it comes to homework, mine usually finishes his before he even gets home!! Now I have him sleeping late but once he does get up, guard the pantry!!

Ah I’m so glad you found it in you to join us for our first birthday, and many happy returns for YOURS in a few days time 🙂 I hope you have a gorgeous time and good food, and enjoy yourself thoroughly.

A great list. Especially the love and happiness – but also the potato salad and BBQ ribs! Sounds like your friend worked a brilliant way around it for everyone to enjoy your husband’s cooking.

Love the list here. And yes, we get better with age. Like a fine wine or good whiskey.

Nothing beats a day of food, fun, and frivolity with friends. Except alliteration. 🙂

Those growing boys really are bottomless pits. With all of them out of school, I cannot keep the pantry or fridge stocked for more than a day or two.

I know the feeling! If I could go one day without going to the store for something, I would be lost! Our continual list always has something on it!! If I got up one morning and it was blank, I wouldn’t know how to act!!

I saw a post one time that said “If I had a dollar for ever time I got distracted, oh look ice cream!” I can identify with that!!

I have a few bottomless pits in my house. Next to my mortgage, groceries are my largest expense!

Yes! I agree! Whatever my be lacking, you have to keep the positive in sight!! I am an eternal optimist so no matter how bad it gets, I try and see the positive!! Everybody has their own struggles and we have to stick together, no matter what!

Ah, I envy your full pantry. Must get to the store. And my kids are still small. Wishing you many more days of pleasant weather!

Thanks Sarah! Keeping the pantry full is a full time job in itself!! We have a running list in the kitchen and I can’t remember a day when there was nothing on the list!!

Great list. Those bottomless pits make marketing impossible- I have two. Glad to have medium days before the scorching starts. I always think of it as “a blizzard of heat.”

Yes, we deal with our worst weather in the spring/summer time when the rest of the country has to suffer through bad winter weather!! I can deal much better in the average years where we don’t face severe tropical weather on a regular basis, but it comes with the territory!!

    Happy almost-birthday to you!

The sunshine state wasn’t super sunny by my house today, but at least it wasn’t unbearably hot.

    Gotta love a full pantry.

Thanks for the comment!! I have lived in the south all my life and I can take the heat and even the humidity but having to account for the tropical storms, all I can say is I could do without that drama in my life!!

Sounds like you have enjoyed a great week! My kids have one more week of school and I can’t wait until we don’t have to do the early morning rush out the door.

I have a sleep-til-noon, bottomless pit in my house, too. Fortunately, I only have to feed him in the summer; the college gets that duty during the school year.
#10 is me, too. That’s why it’s taken me almost a week to get to everyone’s TToT posts this week!
Happy birthday! Glad you joined us at TToT this week.
